Jennifer Wallace is a physical therapist. She has been practicing in pediatrics since 2002. Her first evaluation as a licensed physical therapist was with an undiagnosed boy who exhibited all of the signs of Duchenne. Upon her recommendation, the family sought a definitive diagnosis. The experience led Jennifer to establish Duchenne Therapy Network to further assist those with muscular dystrophy.

Jennifer graduated with honors from Chapman University where she obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and a Master of Physical Therapy. She has been an elected representative of the California Physical Therapy Association. Since 2002, Jennifer has worked diligently to educate herself on the latest information and therapy techniques. She has had many opportunities to present important information at conferences and continuing education courses. Over the years, she has worked with many families and their sons on all of the physical needs related to their condition.

Hi, my name is Jennifer. I would like to tell you a little about me.
First, and foremost, is that I am dedicated to helping the families of and the boys who have been diagnosed with Duchenne. I firmly believe that there is more that we can be doing including earlier diagnosis, developing a standard of care based on the most recent information, using a comprehensive care management model and ensuring a better continuum of care.

I have developed a passion for working with the boys, families and professionals connected to the diagnosis of muscular dystrophy. I find it extremely beneficial to create an open and trusting relationship with all who are involved in the boy’s care, especially with the boys themselves.

I am here to help you and your son. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in physical therapy or have more questions. I would be happy to help in any way that I can.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Wallace, PT

“Jennifer was one of the first people we met after we received the news that our 5-year old son had Duchenne muscular dystrophy. That was almost 12 years ago, and we know that Jennifer has been a major factor in keeping our son healthy and mobile. She is precise with her therapy, always current in her assessments and constantly learning about Duchenne. Jennifer has become an expert on Duchenne and has helped us order the proper orthotics, deal with insurance companies and advise us when his therapies need to change. Almost as important is to see the relationship she has developed with our son. The two of them laugh throughout his PT session and she gets to hear news of his day that even my husband and I don’t hear.” -Debra Miller, Founder of CureDuchenne.org

“Jennifer has been one of the most helpful people for us. The knowledge and information that she has about stretches for muscular dystrophy is incredible. I really do not know what we would have done had she not been around. She is the most wonderful resource that a child with MD can have.” – Ana and Aman Vaish, parents of a young boy with Duchenne
